What is Computer Microscopy?

Microscopes has evolved in a very fast pace. Many terminologies and words now come up to describe various techniques or procedures used in the science of microscopy. One of this is computer microscopy. But what is computer microscopy?

As the name implies, computer microscopy refers to the technique of microscopy that utilizes the computer to generate the actual image of the specimen rather than looking at it from the ocular lens of the microscope.

This new technique in microscopy enables the user to conduct his studies in ease. This is because of the reason that he will not do an actual observation of the specimen through the microscope but wait for the computer to give him the image. It also entails much flexibility like image storing, retrieval and comparing of past specimens to the new one, which will help in making the study more accurate.

Computer microscopy has also opened up a completely new world of microscope application. Due to its multiple utility, it can be applied to a very wide range, from industrial, business to life sciences and even to personal or recreational use. Many people have already been benefited with this new development in the field of microscopy, uplifting human lives and our very way of living.
